Halden Theodore “Bud” Taggart, 82, of Hickory, died on Monday, November 28, 2011, in the Donnell House.
He was born on January 13, 1929, in Washington, a son of Alvin and Wilda Allison Taggart.
He was a 1948 graduate of Trinity High School.
Mr. Taggart had worked for 32 years at Columbia Gas Company Transmission, and 10 years at Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
He shore sheep for over 40 years.
He was a Deacon at Hickory United Presbyterian Church, and a former Elder at Crosscreek Presbyterian Church.
For 28 years, he worked with the Hickory Apple Festival, and was a 25-year member of the Lion’s Club, and a member of the NRA.
Mr. Taggart enjoyed hunting, fishing and travelling.
On July 17, 1979, he married Alice “Robbie” Vankirk, who survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, Terry (Althea) Taggart, of Waynesburg and Darrell (Mary) Taggart, of Bethel Park; a stepdaughter, Sheri Roberts (Frank) Moskowitz, of Cave Creek, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Heath Taggart, Bree Stockdale, Courtney Taggart and Aaron Moskowitz; and 4 great grandchildren, Jenna Rylee Stockdale, Coleman Dane Stockdale, Brayden Christopher Taggart and Mylah Paige Taggart.
Deceased are 3 brothers, Eugene, Duane and Roland Taggart and 1 sister, Floradale Taggart Gray.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. R. Douglas Reinard officiating,
Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
