Anna Marie Ashmore

Anna Marie Ashmore, 93, of Claysville, died Saturday, December 3, 2011, in Washington County Health Center. She was born May 31, 1918, in Bruceton, a daughter of John and Johanna Horjak Kern. Mrs. Ashmore was a cashier for 34 years, working at Kroger and A&P Stores. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her three cats and solving crossword puzzles. Mrs. Ashmore was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. On December 24, 1941, she married John Ashmore, who died November 17, 1951. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Grace Kern, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are brothers, Carl Frederick, John, Joseph, Frank and Edward Kern; and sisters, Christina K. “Sally” Schollaert and Hilda Genevieve Kern. Private burial was held in Claysville Cemetery.
