James Russell Loar, Sr., 54, of Washington, died Sunday, December 4, 2011, in his residence.
He was born June 6, 1957, in Washington, a son of the late James and Maryann Fonner Loar.
Mr. Loar served in the Army Reserves for several years.
He enjoyed being outdoors, fixing things, and spending time with family, especially his brother, Bill.
For 30 years, he worked at Bedillion’s Furniture in Washington.
Mr. Loar was Protestant.
Surviving are his wife, Becky Gray Loar; three sons, Johnathan (Erica) Loar of Cokeburg, Michael J. (Rachel) Loar and James (Juanita) Loar, Jr., both of Washington; a daughter, Ashley Loar of Washington; two brothers, William (Diane) Loar and Harold (Joann) Loar, both of Washington; two sisters, Mary (Roger) Phillips of Ohio and Hannah Loar of Washington; and five grandchildren, Julia, Johnathan, Jamacia, Barron and Jarrett.
Deceased is a son, William “B.J.” Loar.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 9th.
