Mary Jubas Kania, 92, of Washington, died on Saturday, December 24, 2011, in the Washington County Health Center.
She was born in Seward, PA, a daughter of Michael and Jennie Lojek Jubas.
Mrs. Kania worked in the dietary department of Washington and Jefferson College, as a cook and baker.
She was a member of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church in Canton Township.
On September 2, 1940, she married Joseph Stanley Kania, who died as a result of a flash fire, along with 4 other men, at the Jessop Steel Co., on November 8, 1946.
Throughout her life, Mary lovingly cared for her children, family and friends. Her hospitality knew no bounds.
Surviving are a brother, Joseph E. Jubas, of Washington, a son, Joseph E. Kania, of Carmichaels, 2 daughters, Mary Ann (Robert) Stuck, of Carmichaels, and Joyce Wingett, of Leetsdale; 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth Klimek, Michael Kania, Donnica Wingett and Christopher Kania, a godson, Glen R. Dean, of Washington, and several nephews and nieces.
Deceased are 3 brothers, Frank, John and Andy Jubas, and 3 sisters, Anna Giacometti, Rose Savage and Julia Dean.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, with Father Mark Swoger as Celebrant. Burial was at the Washington Cemetery.
