Richard Lee Ealy, 64, of Washington, died unexpectedly, Thursday, January 19, 2012, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born December 30, 1947, in Greene County, a son of Cecil W. and Mary Lindley Ealy.
Mr. Ealy was a graduate of Trinity High School and had worked for Bethlehem Steel, US Steel – Braddock, and Washington Steel.
He was a member of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, L.O.O.M. 22, the Moose Legion, the VFW, the Arms Club and American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
Mr. Ealy was a Vietnam Era veteran of the Army. He was an M-14 Expert and M-16 Marksman, and received a National Defense Service Medal and two Good Conduct Awards. He was honorably discharged on November 12, 1974, with a rank of Staff Sergeant.
On June 8, 1968, he married Anna Florick, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Dawn Ealy and Janice (Kelly) Zlatarich, both of Washington; and a brother, Larry (Sue) Ealy.
Deceased are a son, Richard Edward Ealy, who died in infancy; two brothers, Cecil and Robert; and a sister, Lucinda.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 24th, with Father Mark Swoger officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
