Myrtle Virginia “Ginny” Ferris Salsberry, 77, of Washington, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, in Donnell House, following complications of leukemia.
She was born October 21, 1934, in Deemston Borough, a daughter of Charles Howard Ferris and Mary Elizabeth Harford Ferris.
Mrs. Salsberry was a homemaker and an active member of First Christian Church.
She was a former member of American Legion Post 902 in Houston and the auxiliary of South Strabane Volunteer Fire Department #2.
On June 10, 1966, she married Lloyd Paul Salsberry, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, David Bruce Crawford (Tina) of Meadowlands; four daughters, Mary Beth Cottrill, Pamela Jeanne Hilderbrand (Gregory), Paula Fulton (Brent), and Lori Tennant (Frank), all of Washington; a brother, John Ferris (Glenda) of Manning, South Carolina; 11 grandchildren, Betsy Lynn, Eric, Jason, Megan, Brandon, Brittany, Jessie, Amanda, Frankie, Nathan and Devin; six great-grandchildren, Conrad, Caitlin, Coby, Carson, Caden and Amelia; and four great-great grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Howard Ferris; a sister, Betty Lutes; two grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 28th, with Rev. Stephen Smythers officiating.
