Corinne Madge Humphreys, 100, of Washington, died on Thursday, February 2, 2012, in Southminster Place Woodside Unit of Presbyterian Senior Care.
She was born on May 4, 1911, in Lone Pine, a daughter of Harry and Ethel D. Sprowls Houston.
A 1929 graduate of Washington High School, she had been a 50-year member of Third United Presbyterian Church, and also a member of Garden Cress Presbyterian Church, in St. Petersburg, FL.
Mrs. Humphreys and her husband retired to St. Petersburg, FL, where they lived until 1997, when they returned to Washington.
Mrs. Humphreys was formerly an avid bowler, having bowled multiple 300 games. She also enjoyed watching the Steelers and the Pirates and doing crafts and plastic canvas.
On August 8, 1930, she married Alton Humphreys, who died on November 9, 1999.
Surviving are 2 daughters in-law, Juanita T. Humphreys and Peggy Carter Humphreys, 10 grandchildren, Nancy Waggoner, Barb (John) Carlson, Lori (Jim) Thompson, Karen Hay, Jeff (Gail) Humphreys. Shelley (David) Chmiel, David (Debbie) Humphreys, Jr., Ron (Susan) Humphreys, Scott (Kim) Humphreys and Michelle (Jeff) Moran; 29 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, and Carol Evans, whom she raised.
Deceased are 3 sons, Robert, Richard and David Humphreys; 4 brothers, Harry, James, William and Robert Houston; 2 sisters, Gladys R. Reis and Neva Houston, and 2 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Sunday, from 12 to 5 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, February 6, 2012, with Rev. Thomas Bellhy.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
