William Willhoft, Jr., 73, of Eighty-Four, died Sunday, February 5, 2012, in Canonsburg General Hospital, following a nine year battle with Cancer.
He was born October 24, 1938, in Washington, a son of William Willhoft, Sr. and Wilda Holmes Willhoft.
Mr. Willhoft served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps for nine years and received (2) Good Conduct Medals and the Expert Badge Rifle M-14 Medal.
He was employed as a mechanic in the auto industry.
Mr. Willhoft was Baptist by faith. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, and especially loved his two dogs, Daisy and Foxy.
On November 25, 2002, he married Mary Durilla, who survives.
Also surviving are two sisters, Rose Donley, of Washington, and Shirley Glass, of Jakin, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Joseph Willhoft, Sr.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in Independence Cemetery, Avella. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
