Ralph Waldo Pinkney Jr., 52, of Meadowlands, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in his residence.
He was born October 17, 1959, in Washington, a son of Ralph W. Pinkney Sr. and Janice Gordon Pinkney of Marianna.
He was a 1977 graduate of Beth Center High School and attended General Motors Trade School in Pittsburgh for one year. Since 1979, he had worked for Consol Mines in various positions, most recently as a fire boss in the coal mine. Mr. Pinkney held many mine-related certifications, including mine rescue team certification.
He enjoyed bowling, baseball, fishing, and the outdoors. He loved most spending time with his family. Mr. Pinkney was an extreme animal lover and had a kind heart for all living things. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed working on cars with his son.
Mr. Pinkney was Methodist.
On October 20, 1979, he married Vicki Lynn Borcheck, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jason Pinkney of Meadowlands; a sister, Rhonda (Bruce) Carson of Coal Center; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 11th, with Pastor Bob Pavlich II officiating. Burial will follow in Horn Cemetery, Marianna.
