Mildred Elizabeth Merritt Kelley, 81, of Washington, died on Friday, February 10, 2012, in the Washington Hospital. She had been in declining health.
She was born on May 22, 1930, in Girdletree, MD, a daughter of George W. and Viola May Pruitt Merritt.
A homemaker, she was Baptist by faith.
She was a member of the Washington Senior Citizens Center.
On October 27, 1945, she married Walter L. Kelley, who died on September 14, 2005.
Surviving are a brother, Francis (Kay) Merritt, of Snow Hill, MD; 2 sisters, Shirley (Dave, Sr.) Kelley, of Washington and Thelma (Charles) Phillips, of Berlin, MD, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Deceased are 7 brothers, Howard, Wilson, Ellsworth, Charles, Leslie, Preston and Merritt; and a sister, Virginia Jones.
Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 13, 2012, with the Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating.
Burial will follow in the North Buffalo Cemetery.
