Elva Lois Bell

Elva Lois Bell, 91, of Mt. Pleasant Township, died Friday, February 10, 2012, in Canonsburg General Hospital. She was born May 25, 1920, in Hickory, a daughter of Elden Norman and Ida Culley Ahrns. Mrs. Bell was a 1938 graduate of Hickory High School. A homemaker and seamstress, she enjoyed needlework, sewing, and home gardening and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Mrs. Bell was a member of Hickory United Presbyterian Church. On November 13, 1939, she married John E. Bell, who died March 1, 2000. Surviving are two sons, Wayne Bell of Washington and Vance Bell of Clifton, New Jersey; a daughter, Alice DeAngelis of East Northport, New York; three grandchildren, Vance Bell Jr., Darcie DeAngelis and Heather Vota; and three great grandchildren, Isabella, Lily and Hannah. Deceased are two brothers, Leonard and Henry Ahrns. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 9 a.m., Monday, February 13th, with Rev. R. Douglas Reinard officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory. Memorial donations may be made to Hickory United Presbyterian Church, 210 Main St., Hickory PA 15340.
