George L. Mruk, 83,of Washington, died Friday, March 2, 2012, following a long illness.
Mr. Mruk was born on September 8, 1928 in Derry, PA a son of John and Mary Brehun Mruk.
He served in Korea as Corporal in the U.S. Army with the 5th RTC. Upon his release from the service, he married Fannie E. Toland on July 19, 1952. They remained married until her death in 1998. He was a 35year employee of Washington Steel Corp. until retiring in 1998.
Surviving children are Ronald S. Mruk Sr. of Uniontown, PA; Sandra M. ( Sean ) Mruk McCormick of Cincinnati, OH; and James C. ( Barbara ) Mruk of Woodstock, GA; brothers, Thomas Mruk of Virginia and Edward Mruk of Marylyland; Grandchildren: Harper Mruk-Lovell, Tara Mruk-Pierce, Joseph Mruk, Ryne McCormick Sr., Amber McCormick, Mary Mruk and Anastasia Mruk ; Four Great Grandchildren: Kyra Lovell, Sasha Lovell, Ryne McCormick Jr., and Carmela Pierce.
Preceding him in death are a brother, John Mruk, Jr., and two grandchildren, Ronald Mruk, Jr. and Preston McCormick.
Friends of George L. Mruk, 83, of Washington, died Friday, March 2, 2012, will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
