Jennie Rosalie Kopko, 94, of Washington, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, in Presbyterian Senior Care.
She was born March 14, 1917, in Washington, a daughter of Mike and Julia Kozdra Kopko.
Ms. Kopko was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Church, where she served as financial secretary for more than 30 years. She also served on its building committee and was a member of its Ladies Adoration Society.
Ms. Kopko had worked at Hazel Atlas, K-Mart as the manager of the children’s clothing department, and as a selector/packer at Brockway.
She was a member of the Polish Club, where she played dart ball. Ms. Kopko enjoyed polkas, Polish music, bowling and following Pittsburgh Sports, and was an avid reader.
Surviving are a brother, Edward Kopko; two sisters, Helen Skariot, with whom she made her home, and Irene Provins, all of Washington; numerous nieces and nephews, including Janine Skariot-Ware, who was her primary caregiver, and Tom Skariot; great nephews, Josh Loughman, and Jason (Valerie) Loughman; and great-great niece, Julia Loughman.
Deceased are brothers, Joe, Leo and Walter Kopko, and a brother who died in childhood; and sisters, Mary Shuba, Caroline Bonus, Bertha Ward, Stella Belcastro, and a sister who died in childhood.
Friends will be received Friday from 3 to 7 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 10th, in Holy Trinity Church, with Father Mark Swoger as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
