James G. Knestrick

James G. Knestrick, 83, of Washington, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, in his residence. He was born April 1, 1928, in Washington, a son of Gaylord and Alice Zoeller Knestrick. Mr. Knestrick was a graduate of Washington High School and a World War II veteran of the Army Signal Corps. He was involved in the grocery business for over 40 years, first as a manager of the A&P store, and, after its closing, as the manager of the Shop & Save. Mr. Knestrick was a member of First Christian Church. On November 22, 1945, he married Mary Lou Guinn, who died August 20, 1994. Surviving are a son, Timothy (Christy) Knestrick of Noblesville, Indiana; a sister, Dorothy Orndoff of Cambridge, Ohio; four grandchildren, Alanna Knestrick Panasuk, Nathan Knestrick, Jennifer Boles Ison and Jillian Boles Channer; five great-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild to be born in April. Deceased are a son, Dan Knestrick; a daughter, Beth Boles; a brother, Edgar Knestrick; and two sisters, Ethel Varner and Mildred Forbester. Friends will be received Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 12th, with Rev. Stephen Smythers officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
