Vivian Grace Dietrich, 84, of Washington, died on Friday, March 9, 2012, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, following a 6-year illness.
She was born on November 19, 1927, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Howard and Catherine Engle Schlacter.
A homemaker, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she had once been very active.
Mrs. Dietrich volunteered at the Washington Hospital for several years.
She loved hockey, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In 1952, she married George Dietrich, who died on March 25, 1997.
Surviving are 3 sons, Don (Janice) Dietrich, of Ada, OK, Dave Dietrich and Bill (Vicki) Dietrich, both of Prosperity; 3 daughters, Cathy Giblin, of Italy, Sharon Ford, of Apollo, PA, and Barb (Dan) Grew, of Penn Hills; a brother, Robert (Carol) Schlacter; a sister, Marie Jacobson; 8 grandchildren, Dylan and Nicole Dietrich, Claire Giblin, Bethany, Brian and Jeff Ford, and Matt and Danielle Grew; and 1 great grandchild, Lilly.
Deceased are 3 brothers, Ed, Howard and Dave Schlacter; a sister, Virginia Schlacter, and a grandchild, Meghan Grew.
Friends will be received on Sunday, from 4 to 7 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where a blessing service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., with Father Michael Ruffalo officiating.
Burial will follow at a later time, in Jefferson Memorial Park.
