Dorothea “Charlene” May 66, of Greensboro, Greene County, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in Washington Hospital.
She was born November 7, 1945, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Charles and Georgeanna Harris Medlen.
Mrs. May was a self-employed caregiver and enjoyed fishing, camping and playing bingo. She was a member of Upper Ten Mile Church, Prosperity.
On April 18, 2009, she married John May, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Donald J. Toward of Canonsburg; three daughters, Cheryl A. Drake of Midway, Pamela May of Hawaii and Kerry (Greg) Dickerson of Vancouver, Washington; a stepson, John H. May of Greensboro; three brothers, John (Gloria) Medlen of Claysville, George (Ellen) Medlen of Stockdale and Edwin Medlen of Claysville; five sisters, Peg (Robert) Teagarden of Washington, Diana (Bill) Johnston of Eighty-Four, Carol (John) Flaherty of Burgettstown, Patty Medlen of Elm Grove, West Virginia, and Debbie Hewitt of Claysville; six grandchildren, Stephen Drake Jr. and William Drake, both of Midway, Jacey Toward of Cecil, Brant Toward of Beaver, Brooke and Bobbi Toward, both of Canonsburg; and great-grandchild, Wesley N. Drake.
Deceased are two brothers, Donald Harold Medlen, who died in infancy, and Charles J. Medlen Sr.; and two sisters, Mary Ann and Catherine Medlen, both of whom died in infancy.
Friends will be received Friday, March 16th, from Noon to 5 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Larry Deemer officiating.
