Ruth Irene Beck Davis, 81, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, in her home.
She was born July 26, 1930, in Washington, daughter of the late George Beck and Thelma Tarr.
Mrs. Davis graduated from Washington High School in 1948 and went to work at the Hillsview Clinic as a secretary to the director. She remained there until the birth of her second child in August 1954. She then was a stay-at-home mom until 1966, when she returned to the workforce as an aide and elementary secretary at Trinity Area School District, where she worked for 34 years.
Surviving are her children, Mrs. Linda D. Horner and Robert L. Davis II, both of Washington; one granddaughter, Mrs. Michelle Horner Ostrosky (Joseph) of Greensburg; two great-grandchildren, Rebekah Jo Ostrosky and Jorjah Jo Ostrosky; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Mull (Robert) of Claysville, Mrs. Mildred Boldy (William) Of Irwin and Mrs. Betty Paige of Washington; and a brother-in-law, Clyde Mull of West Alexander.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are an infant brother, George Beck; and two sisters, Mrs. Leona Mull and Mrs. June Yater.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 23rd. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
