James Glenn Roney, 64, of Buffalo Village, died March 22, 2012, in the Washington Hospital, following a three-month illness.
He was born July 19, 1947, in Washington, a son of the late Paul Glenn and Marjorie Ellen Hughes Roney. He was a resident of Buffalo Village for the past 34 years.
Mr. Roney worked for Coen Oil Company for 36 years, most recently as an assistant manager at one of their stations.
A member of the Washington Cruisers, he enjoyed working on cars. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and Mandy.
He was a former member of L.O.O.M.
Mr. Roney was Presbyterian.
On January 30, 1970, he married Ruth Ellen Walker, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Trudy Roney (Scott Bradford) of Amity and Vicki Hixenbaugh (Vaughn) of Washington; a sister, Carole Vanderhoof (Paul) of Claysville; six grandchildren, Senior Airman James Mlatnik, Corey Mlatnik, Justin Mlatnik, Josh Bradford, Courtney Hixenbaugh and Dylan Hixenbaugh; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 26th with Rev. Joseph Jeffries officiating. Burial will follow in Upper Buffalo Cemetery.
