Mary Jane (Janie) Dinsmore died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Emeritus, an assisted living facility; her health had been declining the last few years. She was born on August 11, 1928, in West Middletown, PA to Clyde and Mae Williams and had a twin sister, Martha. She graduated from East Washington High School in 1946. In 1947 she married Robert Cordy and remained married until his death in 1979. She worked briefly at Atlas Glass, Hudson's Jewelry store and sold Queens Way clothes. In 1981 she married William Dinsmore; he passed away in 1994. Janie and Bill had moved from Washington, PA to Cape Coral, FL and she had moved to Oviedo, FL in 2007 to be closer to her only son, Robert Cordy, Jr. She was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church in Cape Coral, FL and a former member of Grove Presbyterian Church in West Middletown. Janie was an exceptional friend to many people, young and old. She always remembered birthdays, anniversaries, and often entertained at her home. Janie made ceramics for over 25 years and was delighted to make ceramic gifts for her family and friends. Preceding her death are brothers Dave (Chris) and Clyde (Sam), and sister Martha (Marty). Surviving are her son Robert L. Cordy, Jr. (Rita) of Charlotte, NC, grandson Jonah T. Cordy, of Athens, GA, several nieces and nephews, her step sons William Dinsmore Jr., and Charles Dinsmore, and step daughter, Kathy Wildauer, plus several step-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the William G. Neal Funeral Home, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, on Thursday, March 29th from 11am - 1pm with burial services at West Middletown Cemetery.
