William Melvin Bainer, 56, of Meadowlands, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2012, after a courageous 2 ½ year battle with heart disease.
He was born on June 27, 1955, in Washington, a son of the late Edward and Anna Mae Bainer.
Mr. Bainer was a proud Navy Veteran, of 20 years, who had seen a lot of the world.
He was a graduate of Washington High School.
Surviving are a sister, Pat (Dave) Hoek, of West Palm Beach, FL; 2 brothers, Edward (Jean) Bainer and John (Joanne) Bainer, both of Summerville, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Doc Bayer, Mr. Bainer’s longtime and best friend, for taking care of him for the past year and a half.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Navy Retirement Home, U.S. Naval Home, Resident Affairs Service, 1800 Beach Drive, Gulfport, MS 39507-1597, for the Navy was his first love.
Services for William M. Bainer, who died March 30, 2012, will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 27th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Inurnment will follow at 1 p.m. in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
