Robert David Lowry, 84, of Washington, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, in his residence.
He was born August 24, 1927, in Washington, a son of Lawrence and Florence Davidson Lowry.
A 1945 graduate of Hickory High School, he owned and operated the Lowry Family Farm and was a former director of Penn West Farm Credit.
Mr. Lowry was a member of Grove United Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder, and the PA Farm Bureau.
On December 20, 1947, he married Florence Carl, who died April 21, 2011. They had celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Surviving are three sons, James Robert (Deborah) Lowry of Washington, Richard Lawrence Lowry and David Lloyd Lowry, both of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Ann Litman of Claysville; brother, William Lowry of Avella; seven grandchildren, Lucas, Ava, Ethan, Timothy and Jennifer Lowry; Stephanie Feehan and Dana Campbell; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who were very special to him.
Deceased is a sister, Jane Litman.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 10th, in Grove United Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Jack Emerick officiating. Burial will follow in West Middletown Cemetery. Those attending the funeral are asked to meet at the church.
