Suzanne Lucille Liggett, 75, of Washington, died Friday, April 13, 2012, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care.
She was born September 25, 1936, in Forest Hills, daughter of Edward and Susanna Rafter Posgate.
Mrs. Liggett graduated from Trinity High School in 1954 and worked in the receiving department at Sears for 26 years.
She was a member of North Buffalo United Presbyterian Church, Buffalo Grange 1523, and the Auxiliary of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
On June 18, 1955, she married Elmer E. Liggett, who died May 21, 2000.
Surviving are three sons, Elmer E. “Scooter” (Wendy) Liggett and Edward “Ted” B. Liggett, both of Washington, and Donald B. (Kelly) Liggett of Hickory; a brother, Edward Donald Posgate of Michigan; seven grandchildren, Erika Lynn Liggett, Amanda Sue (Michael) Frank, Brent Aaron Liggett, Emily Nicole Liggett, Ellen Marie Liggett, Luke Robert Liggett and Emma Grace Liggett; and one great-grandchild, Juliana Lynn Bonus.
Deceased are a brother, John Edward Posgate; and three sisters, Elizabeth Jane Satterfield, Virginia Oberley and Margaret Bickley.
Friends will be received Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Tuesday, April 17th, in North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Upper Buffalo Cemetery.
