Clinton Hootman Carroll, 85, of Washington, died in his home, Saturday, April 14, 2012, following a lengthy illness.
He was born December 19, 1926, in Washington, a son of Wyck and Hazel Hootman Carroll.
On December 18, 1944, he entered the U.S. Navy. For his service he was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, the Victory Medal, and was Honorably Discharged, July 20, 1946.
Mr. Carroll worked in the Metal/Steel Industry as a Leech Plant operator.
He was a member of Upper Buffalo Presbyterian Church and Veterans of Foreign War.
On August 26, 1949, he married Hazel Mildred Buchanan, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Clinton Edward Carroll, of Buffalo, and Rick (Alice) Carroll, of Avella; a daughter, Dianna Carroll, of Washington; two brothers, James Carroll and Wilson Carroll, both of Washington; nine grandchildren, Kim (Bert) Allen, Melissa (Brian) Falick, Judy Carroll, Rick (Audrey) Carroll, John Carroll, Clinton C. Carroll, Carissa Heckathorne, Crystal (Harry) Rivera, and Cottie Richter; and twelve great grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Cleabelle Chambers.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, with Rev. Judy Mayer and Rev. James Buchanan, co-officiating. Burial will follow in Upper Buffalo Church Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Upper Buffalo United Presbyterian Church, Building Fund,
South Buffalo Road, Washington, PA 15301. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion, Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
