Mildred A. Uselton, 90, of Washington, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, peacefully in her home. She was born in Richeyville on June 10, 1921, a daughter of George and Mary Anderson Bakos and had attended Centerville Schools.
She was Catholic by faith and enjoyed cooking, baking pies, music and dancing.
On May 4, 1940, she married Andrew “ Andy “ Alexander, who was killed in an accident in the Vesta # 4 Coal Mine on January 23, 1942. She later married Leonard A. Uselton, Sr., on December 7, 1948 and he died on December 7, 1992.
Surviving are two sons, John V. “ Butch “ ( Nancy ) Alexander of Huntsville, Texas, Leonard A. “ Lenny “ ( Cathy ) Uselton, Jr., of Canonsburg; a daughter, Darlene Uselton of Washington, with whom she lived who was her caregiver; four grandchildren, Evan L. ( Courtney Walter ) Uselton of Robinson Township, Brent A. Uselton of San Diego,California,Brice A. and Andrea L. Alexander, both of Huntsville, Texas; several nieces and nephews. Also her beloved cat Tiger who was always by her side.
Preceding her in death are four sisters, Mary Mancuso, Elizabeth Huzor, Irene Handley Durnan, and Martha Sep; and two brothers, George and Paul Bakos.
At the request of the deceased, no public visitation or services will be held. Burial will be private and held at Beallsville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue.
