Robert Allen “Bob” Roble, 78, of Washington, died on Thursday, April 26, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born on December 17, 1933, in Washington, a son of John Francis and Mable Ellen Keller Roble.
He was Catholic by faith.
Mr. Roble had worked at Brockway Glass Plant #27, for 35 years. In his younger years, he had worked at Duncan Miller.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gambling and gardening, and watching the Steelers, and hockey, especially the Penguins.
On October 7, 1967, he married Geraldine M. McCurdy, who survives.
Also surviving are 2 daughters, Charlotte R. (Edward W.) Carpenter, of Scenery Hill and Emily S. (Andrew B.) Harper, of Washington; and 2 grandchildren, Dustin J. Carpenter, and Cassandra L. Carpenter.
Deceased are 4 brothers, John “Regis”, Kenneth, Charles and Donald Roble; 5 sisters, Cecelia Bowman, Margaret Stevens, Dorothy Fonner, Loretta Durbin and Jean Cecil, and 3 infant children.
Friends will be received on Saturday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, with Rev. Jason R. Hefner officiating.
