Gladys Terry

Gladys Terry, 81, of Washington, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, in her residence. She was born on March 18, 1931, in Cambridge, VA, a daughter of Richard and Sally Reese Smith. She had worked for 38 years as a housekeeper at the Washington Hospital. A member and Deaconess at Friendship Baptist Church, she was very involved in her church. In 1956, she married Isaac Terry, who died on January 20, 2008. Surviving are 2 sons, Clarence and Anthony Terry; 2 sisters, Ellen Williams and Rebecca Schriber, both of Maryland; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Ronald Terry and several brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., in Friendship Baptist Church, 17 East Walnut St., Washington, with Rev Richard D. White, Jr. officiating.
