Steve “Milk” Mlecsko, 82, of Washington, died on Thursday, May 3, 2012, in his residence, after a battle with cancer.
He was born on June 30, 1929, in Washington, a son of John and Julia Ziemba Milk.
Mr. Mlecsko attended Cook School in Bridgeville and was Catholic by faith.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War, until his honorable discharge in 1954. For his service, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal, with 2 bronze stars, the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He had worked as a millwright for 43 years, at Aristech Chemical Corporation, Neville Island Plant.
Mr. Mlecsko enjoyed working outside, and loved spending time with his family.
In November 13, 1948, he married Rose Ann Darnley, who died on November 5, 2008.
Surviving are 3 sons, Michael (Michelle) Mlecsko, of Oxford, MI; Stephan “Steve” Mlecsko, of Washington and Joseph (El) Mlecsko, of Eighty-Four; 2 daughters, Linda Latham, of Washington, and Rose Mary (Jim) Prosser, of Washington; 12 grandchildren, Shane, Allison, Cassandra, Jennifer, Valarie, Joelle, Christy, Samantha, Laura, Dustin, Julia and James “Jim-Boy”; 3 step grandsons, Bryan, Scott and Tim; 16 great-grandchildren, Paetyn, Evan, Morgan Jane, Brendon, Gage, Dina, MacKenzie, Alexa, Madison, Jacki, Alex, Gavin, Shannon "Mookie", Morgan, Kyle “Jacob” and Jimboy.
Deceased, are 6 brothers, Theodore, Joseph, Matthew, Walter, Leo and James; 2 sisters, Cecelia and Victoria; and an infant son, Steve.
Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd. 395 E. Maiden St., Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2012, with Rev. James B. Snyder officiating.
