Lydia Katheryne "Katie" Clutter

Lydia Kathryne “Katie” Clutter Member of Friendship Community Church Lydia Kathryne “Katie” Clutter, 88, of Washington, went to be with the Lord, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, on Thursday, May 10, 2012, after a brief illness. She was born on October 8, 1923,in Littleton, WV, a daughter of Simeon and Easter Ellen Long Fox. Mrs. Clutter was an active member of Friendship Community Church, where she loved to sing on Sundays. On April 15, 1944, in First Church of God, McMechen, WV, she married Hershell Lawrence “Spanky” Clutter, her husband of 37 years, who died on February 16, 1981. Surviving are a son, Lawrence Clutter, of Claysvile, 2 grandchildren, Angela Brenner, of Taylorstown, and Lawrence “Lonnie” Clutter, Jr., of Lone Pine; 4 great grandchildren, Alexis Brenner Franks, Joshua Brenner, Dominic Clutter and Vincent Clutter; and a host of nieces and nephews. The youngest of 9, she was the last of her 8 siblings, Eddie, Ira, Archie, Jerry, Roy, Gladys, Dessie and Wilda. Also deceased is her second husband, Robert Bryner, whom she had married on September 26, 1999. Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Bethel Cemetery, Littleton, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friendship Community Church, 1090 Weirich Ave., Washington, PA 15301.
