Edward Thomas Howard, 59, of Washington, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 11, 2012, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born on November 7, 1952, in Kecksburg.
Catholic by faith, he worked in the landscaping business, for Eagle Irrigation, in Greensburg.
Mr. Howard served in the U.S. Marine Corps, during the Vietnam War, from October 18, 1971, until his honorable discharge on October 17, 1973. For his service, he was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal and the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.
He was a member of the Edwin Scott Linton, Post 175 of the American Legion.
He enjoyed music, yard work and working outside.
On November 2, 2007, he married Mary Kay Armstead, who survives.
Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Mia and Daysha Skolnekovich, of Washington, and Nautica Shea, of Beaver County; a daughter-in-law, Debra Skolnekovich, of Washington, and 2 stepsons, John T. and James E. Skolnekovich, both of Washington.
Services were private and held at the convenience of the family.
Mr. Howard was interred at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
