Vedasava Marunich Peters, 92, of Washington, formerly of Ellsworth, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, in Humbert Lane Personal Care Home.
She was born August 19, 1919, in Cokeburg, daughter of Louis and Sofia Mandich Marunich.
Mrs. Peters was a graduate of Ellsworth High School and Penn Commercial.
She worked as an aid at Western Center for 16 years and had once worked at Reznik’s Laundry and Reichart’s.
Mrs. Peters was Orthodox by faith and presently attended Trinity Bible Fellowship.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, flower gardening and her family.
On March 9, 1940, she married Peter Paul Peters, who died July 6, 1977.
Surviving are a son, David (Sharon) Peters of Washington; three daughters, Ruth Ann Peters Shields of Washington; Sophia Martha Peters (Donald) Anderson of Everett, and Bernice Rose Peters Anisodon of Sacramento, California; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons, John Louis Peters and Joseph Charles Peters; a grandson, Darren Shields; seven brothers; and six sisters.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Saturday, June 9th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Michael Roach officiating. Burial will follow in Charleroi Cemetery.
