Antoinette "Toni" Bier

Antoinette “Toni” S. Bier, 80, of Washington, died peacefully on June 9, 2012. She was born February 18, 1932, in Washington, daughter of Jacob and Brony (Brzezanski) Siedlak. On October 13, 1951, she married Albert August Bier, Sr., who passed away September 7, 2006. Mrs. Bier was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church. Previously she worked at Hazel Atlas #2, Brockway Glass #7 and the Observer-Reporter. She was also judge of elections for Canton Township for a number of years. Mrs. Bier loved gardening, flowers, and playing bingo. Surviving are three children, Evelyn (Daniel) Messmer of Latrobe, Becky (Rick) George and Albert Bier, Jr., both of Washington; five grandchildren, Kimberly George (Jason) Andria, Heather Messmer (Steve) Bly, Chris George (Rachel Ziemba), Amanda Messmer (Dan Speal), and Jacob Messmer (Megan Stahl); two great-granddaughters, Alivia Marie and Zoey Lee Andria; a sister, Sophie Earnest, and a brother, Edward Siedlak, both of Washington; and a number of nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are three sisters, Helen Rendziak, Anna Abajace, and Mary Zawacki; and a brother, Theodore Siedlak. Family and friends will be received Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 19th, in St. Hilary Church, with Father Thomas O’Neil as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
