Edith T. “Edie” Foote, 80, of Washington, died unexpectedly, Thursday, June 21, 2012, in the Washington Hospital. She was born September 21, 1931, in Amwell Township, daughter of Albert B. and Anna E. Swihart Thomas. Mrs. Foote graduated from Trinity High School in 1949. She worked at Sears in the credit department for 13 years, at National City Bank in loan services, and as a manager at the Bon-Ton for several years. She retired from Avon after serving as district sales manager for 10 years. Mrs. Foote was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 35 years and Conservative Baptist Association for 35 years, where she served as registrar and treasurer. She was also a member of Washington Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. On August 12, 1972, she married Charles C. Foote, who died April 7, 1988. Surviving are a son, Richard F. Kwiatkowski of Washington; a daughter, Karen L. (Bill) Brown of Hollywood, Florida; a brother, Homer H. (Lauretta)Thomas Sr. of Washington; four sisters, Martha (Bill) Popa of Wadsworth, Ohio, Wahneita (Richard) Grimes of Waynesburg, Olive Fonner of Washington and Linda Belis of Washington; four grandchildren, Luke Kwiatkowski, Teresa Kwiatkowski, Jami (David) Perez and Eric Deegan; and six great-grandchildren, Natalie Perez, Ethan Conklin, Elijah Conklin, Evan Conklin, Chloe Perez and Julian Perez. Deceased are brothers, Sherman, George, Paul and Dorman Thomas; sisters, Lola Smith, Dorothea Plants, Ruth Berquist, and Naomi VanWitbeck. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, June 26th, from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., the time of service, with Rev. Fred McCloskey officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
