Regina "Becky" Ross

Regina Dorothy May Beck “Becky” Ross, 95, of Washington, died on Saturday, July 7, 2012. She was born on February 2, 1917, in Washington, the daughter of the late James T. and Anna Duff Beck. A graduate of Washington High School, she also graduated from California State Teacher’s College and Bethany College. Mrs. Ross was a schoolteacher, having taught Kindergarten and 1st grade at WEEP, Chartiers Elementary School, Clark School and 6th Ward. She taught in the Washington School District for 35 years. She spent her winters in Florida. In December, 1947, she married Edward C. “Chub” Ross, who died on January 3, 1989. Surviving are a son, Edward Ross, III, of Boardman, OH; a daughter, Cheryl McGill, of Washington, 4 grandchildren, Becky McGill, Cindy McGill, Edward Ross, III, and Heather Herchik; 5 great grandchildren, Brandon, Kayla, Jalen, Lyndsey, Jordan, Brooke and Kacie; and 3 great-great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Karis and Raymond. At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation or burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, 878 Century Drive Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
