Antonio Ronaldo “Ron” Corrado, 85, of Washington, died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, in the Donnell House.
He was born on May 7, 1927, in McKeesport, a son of the late Domenic A. and Palma DeVincentis Corrado.
A graduate of Greensburg High School, he was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadowlands.
Mr. Corrado was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, during World War II. He served from March 30, 1945, until his honorable discharge on August 20, 1946. For his service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Corrado was a sheet metal worker for Cherry Point Naval Aviation Depot, NC, where he retired in July,1990
He was a 64-year member of the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
He loved western wear and airplanes, was a history buff and an avid reader.
On July 5, 1950, he married Anna Marie Menichi, who survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, Ronald A. (Sue) Corrado, of Washington, and Steven D. (David Holt) Corrado, of Raleigh, NC; 3 daughters, Roanna (Irvin) Sanders, of Orlando, FL; Pamela (John) Manganello, of Corpus Christie, TX, and Mary Christine (Joe) D’Angelo, of Bethlehem, PA; and 8 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kristen) Sanders, Christopher Sanders, Joseph (Lacey) Manganello, Jenna (Graham) Schill, Brianna (Steven) Casciola, and Nicholas, Stephen and Natalie D’Angelo.
Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, July 16, 2012, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church,300 Pike St., Meadowlands, with Father Carmen A. D'Amico as celebrant.
Burial will follow at the National cemetery of the Alleghenies, at 12:30 p.m. Military Rites will be accorded graveside by the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
