Sarah K. “Sis” Davis, 67, of Claysville, died on Thursday, July 12, 2012, in her home.
She was born on January 31, 1945, in Wellsburg, WV, a daughter of Albert and Lula Tush Hood.
A homemaker, she was a member of Roadside Chapel.
She was a Sunday School Teacher, and attended Senior Life.
On August 22, 1964, she married Melvin Clyde Davis, who survives.
Also surviving are 3 sons, Richard Davis, Ron (Shannon) Davis, and Kevin Davis, all of Claysville; 2 daughters, Cheryl Davis and Beulah (Steve) Varga, both of Claysville; a brother, John Morris, of Wellsburg, WV; 7 sisters, Pauline Bolen, Helen Yost, Beulah (Larry) McGowan, Bonnie (Mary) Dowden, and Rose Dillie, all of Wellsburg, WV, Demaris (Dutchie) Daugherty, of West Alexander, and Donna (Sherrill) Schoolcraft, of Wellsburg, WV; 11 grandchildren, Mandy (Robert) Schroeder, Thomas Northcraft, Jr., Ryan Northcraft, Abby Davis, Emma Davis, and Gabriella, Savanna, Juliet and James Vargo, and Homer and Jody Gorby; and 3 great grandchildren, Hunter and Hannah Schroeder and Makenna Northcraft.
Deceased are 4 brothers, William, Donald, James and Albert Hood; and 3 sisters, Margaret Hood, Geraldine Barnhart and Laural Surian.
Friends will be received on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the Roadside Chapel, 1869 Pleasant Grove Road, Claysville, where additional visitation will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012, from 12 to 2 p.m., the time of services, with Rev. Craig Wright officiating.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
