View Video TributeJohn Edward Breen, Sr., 81, of Buffalo Township, died Saturday, July 21, 2012, in his residence.
He was born September 27, 1930, in Youngstown, Ohio, son of the late Wilbert Francis “Willie,” “Bowser” and Erna Breen.
A veteran, Mr. Breen served in the Army’s Ski Patrol and was honorably discharged as a corporal on October 12, 1951.
Mr. Breen worked in the maintenance department at Western Center for 20 years and had been a self-employed carpenter.
He was Catholic by faith.
Mr. Breen volunteered as the diving coach at Peters Township High School, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed many outdoor activities.
On January 22, 1955, he married Charelle Blodgett, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, John E. Breen, Jr. (Lisa Putaro) of Oldsmar, Florida; a daughter, Kimberly A. Trbovich (Douglas) of Claysville; one sister, Dorothy “Dee” Grieb of Monroeville; five grandchildren, Jonathon and James Breen, and Brandon, Justin and Kirsten Trbovich; and seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Seth, Isabella, Bailey, Presley, Sophia and Alexa.
Deceased is a sister, Nancy Coen.
Friends will be received Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 25th, with Rev. Ruth Simmons officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
