Margaret Oslund Burns, 91, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 4, 2012, in the Donnell House, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on February 3, 1921, a daughter of the late Gust and Edna Johnson Oslund.
A graduate of Washington High School, Mrs. Burns had worked for more than 20 years as a secretary at Fairmont Supply.
She was a longtime member and choir director at the Allison Avenue Baptist Church, and more recently had attended Fairhill Manor Christian Church.
Mrs. Burns was a member of the Vasa Balder Lodge, and a Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She loved to sing, play the organ and piano and also enjoyed watching sports of all kinds.
Mrs. Burns was most proud of her family, and lived her life for them.
Her husband, Arthur D. Burns, whom she loved dearly, preceded her in death on December 25, 1981.
Surviving are a son, David Alan Burns, of Beckley, WV, a granddaughter, Tiffany Burns, and 2 grandsons, Brandon and Ronnie Burns.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are 2 sisters, Ruth Doak and Marie Paul, and a brother, Martin Oslund.
A memorial service will be held in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. David Janz officiating.
