Elmer Earl Raymer

Elmer Earl Raymer, 74, of Washington, died Thursday, August 16, 2012, in Donnell House. He was born January 9, 1938, in Richhill Township, Greene County, a son of Harry and Irene Raymer. Mr. Raymer was a 1955 graduate of West Greene High School. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps, serving from December 15, 1955, until his honorable discharge on December 12, 1958, with a rank of Sergeant. He worked as a handyman in the area. Surviving are his children, Jeff (Rhonda) Morris, Sr., of Washington, Wendy (Tim) Pendland of Washington, Wilma (Bill) Obney and Bertha (Ed) Herceg, both of Florida, Melanie Riggins (Bill Elliott) of West Finley, Diane Bucannan of Florida, Scott Raymer and Darlene Daughtery; 31 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. Deceased are his wife, Viola May Filby Raymer; two sons, Bill and James Morris; a daughter, Shirley Sellers; and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 21st, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
