Burton S. Mounts, 63, of Washington, died on Saturday, August 18, 2012, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born on August 24, 1948, in Avella, a son of the late Lester W. and Anne Beddar Mounts.
Mr. Mounts worked for Pennsylvania Transformer as a machine operator.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War.
A member of the Claysville Lion’s Club, he also belonged to the Hunt-Kennedy Post 639 of the American Legion, in Claysville.
Surviving are a son, Wayne Mounts, of Arizona; a daughter, Danica Mounts, of Albuquerque, NM; step children Doug (Melanie) Rush of Houston, Dan (Jacie) Rush of Washington, and Gretchen (August) Hurst of Volant; a brother, Carl Mounts, of Washington, a sister, Gladys Craig, of Washington; 10 grandchildren, Kahn, Solomon, Uriah, Jaydyn, Madison, Raeghan, Kyle, Lauren, Autumn and Grayden; a friend of 27 years, Nancy Rush, and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are 4 brothers, Clyde, Willard, James and Richard Mounts; and 2 sisters, Arlene Hay and Ruth Oliverio.
There will be a gathering of friends, on Monday, from 4 to 5 p.m., the time of services, with Rev. August Hurst officiating, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington.
Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home, by the Hunt-Kennedy post 639 of the American Legion, Claysville.
