Joseph Louis Mikus, Jr.

Joseph Louis Mikus, Jr., 57, of Houston, died Thursday, September 20, 2012. He was born January 7, 1955, in Washington, a son of Jo Ann Reese Mikus of Houston and the late Joseph L. Mikus, Sr. Mr. Mikus was a graduate of Chartiers Houston High School and, from 1972 to 1975, served in the Navy as an aviation electrician’s mate. In 2001, he retired from Columbia Gas after 20 years of service. He was most recently employed as a maintenance supervisor at Caring Heights Community Care and Rehabilitation. Mr. Mikus enjoyed golfing and all Pittsburgh sports. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Jordan L. Mikus of Arizona; a stepson, Cory Amos of Washington; and a sister, Candace Phillips (Paul) of Cecil. Deceased is sister, Tracy Lynn Mikus. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or services. William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., Washington, is handling arrangements.
