Jean H. Gibson

Jean H. Gibson, 82, of Claysville, died on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, in the Ohio Valley Medical Center Wheeling, West Virginia. She was born on April 30, 1930, in Washington, a daughter of Vaughn and Mary Gromo Hixenbaugh. Mrs. Gibson worked at the Claysville Post Office as a window clerk, and was a member of Claysville United Presbyterian Church. On February 1, 1955, she married John William “Bill” Gibson, who died on May 12, 2012. Surviving are a daughter, Joni Lynn Gibson, of Claysville; a brother, Vaughn Hixenbaugh of Avella; three nieces, Cheryl Wilson, Debbie Hixenbaugh, and Linda McBride; and two nephews, Michael Hixenbaugh and Vaughn Hixenbaugh. Deceased are a brother, Bill Hixenbaugh; and a niece, Nancy Yanniello. Friends will be received on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Keith Hornung officiating. Burial will follow in the Claysville Cemetery.
