Marie Lazar Novi, of Washington, died October 11, 2012, in her home.
She was born in Pittsburgh, a daughter of John and Anna Gercik Lazar.
Mrs. Novi was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the church’s Christian Mothers.
She practiced yoga throughout her life, enjoyed music, dancing, and traveling.
Mrs. Novi enjoyed good health and loved life, living it to the fullest. She always had a strong desire to learn new things.
She was a homemaker and mother of four children.
On May 8, 1943, she married Gino L. Novi, with whom she celebrated 66 years of marriage. He died September 23, 2009.
Surviving are a son, David Novi, of Raleigh, North Carolina; two daughters, Maryann Novi, and Mary Jeanne (Larry) Maggi, both of Washington; three brothers, Joseph Lazar and Bill Lazar, both of Pittsburgh, and Fidelas Lazar, of Connecticut; a sister, Sister Ann, of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Michele Jacobs Lukas, Paul Jacobs, Charlene Sten Seibert, and John Novi; two great grandchildren, Ryan Alexander Lukas and Abigail Marie Seibert.
Deceased are a son, Gene Thomas Novi; two brothers, Francis Lazar and George Lazar; three sisters, Elvina Liguori, Leona Lazar, and Helen Lazar.
A memorial visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012, in Immaculate Conception Roman Church, 119 W. Chestnut Street, Washington, with Father William Feeney, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray. The family suggests memorial contributions to JFK Scholarship Fund, c/o John F. Kennedy Grade School, 111 Spruce Street, Washington, PA 15301.
