Ann Elizabeth Moyer, 90, of Washington, formerly of the Thomas Campbell Apartments, died on Monday, October 15, 2012, in the Donnell House. She had been in declining health for the past 5 years.
She was born on November 20, 1921, in Washington, a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Goldie Elizabeth Cox Dunn.
Mrs. Moyer had worked at Brockway Glass Company and also at Green Thumb.
She was a long-time, active member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, a member of the Christian Mothers and Golden Age Club, and she volunteered for the Lenten Fish Fries. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society Reach to Recovery, a breast cancer support group.
Mrs. Moyer enjoyed crocheting, dart ball, bingo, socializing at her residence at Thomas-Campbell Apartments, and more recently at Humbert Lane. She especially enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at family gatherings.
She was the last of her immediately family.
On February 21, 1940, she married Frank L. Moyer, Sr., who died on August 11, 1993.
Surviving are a son, Frank L. (Barbara) Moyer, of Washington, a daughter, Joanne (Jeff) McGregor, of Washington, seven grandchildren, Jay and Jean McGregor, Mark (Cherie) Moyer, and Maria, Amy, Deborah and Jennifer Moyer; 9 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jonathan and Isabella Moyer, Matthew, Tyler and Angelina Schuster, Dominic McDade, Gabriella McKenzie and Lily Pettit.
Deceased are 3 sisters, Jean Spencer, Mary “Tommy” Compton and Cindy Grudi; and 2 brothers, James and Albert “Doc” Dunn.
Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, October 19th, in St. Hilary Church, with Father Thomas O’Neil as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
