Charles Reed Comstock, 88, of Washington, died on Sunday, October 21, 2012, in the Donnell House.
He was born on February 18, 1924, in Washington, a son of Marlin and Eva Bell Comstock.
After graduating from the Engineering Institute of America, he worked as a welder’s helper, at McGraw Edison, until his retirement in 1987.
He became a member of Lone Pine Christian Church, when he was 13, and later became a member of Laboratory Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Comstock was a member of The Senior Citizens Center, loved football and wrestling, and enjoyed his daily trips to the doughnut shop.
On December 4, 1945, he married Julia Duvall, who survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, Charles (Eleanor) Comstock, of Eighty-Four, and Michael (Karen) Comstock, of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Susan (William) Beathe, of Buckhannon, WV; 4 grandchildren, Mark Beathe, Steven (Laura) Beathe, and Kaitlin and Sarah Comstock; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are 3 brothers, Marlin, Harold and Robert Comstock; and 3 sisters, Helen Locy, Mildred Nixon, and Dorothy Comstock.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 E. Maiden St., Washington, where services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
