James David Brezinski, Sr., 79, of Hickory, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, in Kindred Hospital.
He was born August 12, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant Township, a son of Jan and Laura Dombrowski Brezinski.
He graduated from Trinity High School and attended West Liberty College.
Mr. Brezinski was a self-employed dairy farmer on the Brezinski farm in Hickory, and starting in 1988, also worked as a truck driver.
He was an avid reader of history, loved hunting, gardening and animals, and enjoyed his grandchildren.
Mr. Brezinski was a member of St. Hilary Church and a long-time member of the Pulaski Club.
His wife of 50 years, Virginia Viehmann Brezinski, died in 2009.
On March 15, 2010, he married Viola Moore, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James, D. Brezinski, Jr., and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Brezinski, both of Hickory; two daughters, Janice Brezinski of Hickory and Carrie (Jeff) White of Ellicott City, Maryland; a brother, M. Richard Brezinski of Washington; four grandchildren, Mitchell White, Tyler Brezinski, Zachary Brezinski and Christian Hower.
Deceased are brothers Frank, Joseph, Charles, Stephen, Henry, Zigmund, and Robert Brezinski; and sisters, Teresa Wiegman and Irene Magon.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, October 29th, in St. Hilary Church, with Father Thomas O’Neil as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
