Paul James Eberle, 83, of Hickory, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center.
He was born July 3, 1929, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Rev. Forest S. Eberle, former pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Canonsburg, and Bertha Haas Eberle.
Mr. Eberle served in the Air Force and was a truck driver and owner of Eberle Nursery and Christmas Tree Farm. He served on the board of directors of Hickory Telephone Company.
Mr. Eberle was an active member of First Lutheran Church, Washington.
On August 3, 1951, he married Arlene Bennett, who died July 27, 2001.
Surviving are a son, Brad (Cheryl) Eberle of South Fayette Township; a daughter, Lynn (Martin) Yancosky of Penn Hills; three grandchildren, Sarah (Ilan) Kerman, Anne (Wes) Miller and Ryan Eberle; and a great-grandchild, Dara Kerman.
Deceased are a brother, Walter Eberle; and two sisters, Helen Kelso and Dorothy Young.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 3rd, in First Lutheran Church, 92 West Walnut Street, Washington, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Schott officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
