Jennie Sarnicke, 82, of Washington, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, in Presbyterian Senior Care, North Franklin Township.
She was born July 25, 1930, in Washington, a daughter of Joseph and Apolonia Valas Borowski.
Mrs. Sarnicke was a member of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church and its Adoration Society. She was active in church functions and enjoyed making pierogies for various fund raising events.
She was employed by Hazel Atlas #2 for fourteen years and was a homemaker.
On September 28, 1953, she married Charles E. Sarnicke, who died January 22, 1989.
Surviving are a son, Samuel (Sandra) Sarnicke, of McMurray; a daughter, Donna (Barry) Standiford, of Washington; a sister, Stella Gibson, of Washington; and three grandchildren, Samantha, Melissa and Diana Sarnicke, of McMurray, and a step granddaughter, Caroline Standiford, of Tucson, Arizona.
Deceased are two brothers, Victor and Joseph Borowski.
She will be missed by her cats, Angel and Elvis.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2012, in Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, with Father Mark Swoger as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
