Viola Rea Tarr, 85, of Washington, died on Friday, November 23, 2012, in the Washington County Health Center.
She was born on April 19, 1927, in Washington, a daughter of the late Jack and Anna Paul Rea.
A 1944 graduate of Trinity High School, she was a member of Avery United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Tarr had worked as a telephone operator for Bell of PA for 5 years, and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed tap dancing with the Washington Senior Citizens, and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
On August 29, 1948, she married William W. Tarr, Jr., who died on May 10, 1990.
Surviving are a son, William R. (Rosemary) Tarr, of Washington; 2 brothers, Jack (Dorris) Rea and Gaylord (Eleanor) Rea, both of Washington; a sister, Frances Hudak, of Washington; 3 grandchildren, Christopher (Gina) Tarr, Gregory (Lauren) Tarr, and Abby (Nick) Rawlins; a great grandchild Eli William Tarr, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Albert Rea and a sister, Lois Ann Fonner.
Friends will be received on Sunday, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., in Avery United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ruth Simmons officiating.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
