Belva Jean Seward Lauda, 86, of East Washington, died Sunday, November 25, 2012, in Presbyterian Senior Care, North Franklin Township.
She was born March 28, 1926, in Houston, a daughter of U. Grant Seward and Della McMenemy Seward.
Mrs. Lauda grew up in Houston, graduated from Chartiers Houston High School, and attended Penn Commercial College.
Mrs. Lauda was a member of Broad Street Baptist Church, where she volunteered and was very active. She had attended First Christian Church in Washington, was a member of Order of Eastern Star and DAR, and was a volunteer for Girl Scouts and Rainbow Girls.
She worked at Prudential Insurance Company, in the clerical department, and was a homemaker.
On June 25, 1957, she married Dr. Bill G. Lauda, who passed away May 17, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy S. McGill and husband James (Jeb) of East Washington, and Kathi J. Felton and husband James of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren, J. PatrickMcGill and Megan McGill, Andrew Felton, Jacob Felton, Joseph Felton and Rebecca Felton; a brother, Robert G. Seward and wife Frances of Meadowlands; a nephew Robert Seward, Jr. and niece Cheryl Morrell; sister-in-law Jane Willhoft of East Washington and nephew Frank Willhoft.
Deceased is a sister, Betty J. Tunno, and two nephews, Terry Seward and Richard Willhoft.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012, with Rev. Stephen Smythers officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
