Irene Louise Wright, 82, of Washington, died Thursday, December 13, 2012, in Donnell House.
She was born June 20, 1930, in Flushing, Ohio, a daughter of the late Arthur and Carrie Hughes Morten.
Ms. Wright worked as a custodian at the Washington County Court House for 15 years and at Washington and Jefferson College for 10 years. She enjoyed reading and word search puzzles.
Early in life Ms. Wright was a member of Wright Memorial AME Zion Church. Currently she was attending Friendship Baptist Church and was a member of Eastern Star.
Surviving are a daughter, Ethel “Tiny” (Jeffrey) Davis of Washington; grandchildren, Marcella and David Flannigan, Rachelle Wright, Deidre (Pete) Meredith, William (Amanda) Wright, Sean Wright and Michael Wright; several great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Carolyn Spencer; and sisters, Mary Emma Wright and Ruby Blakey.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 till 11 a.m., the time of service, with Rev. Richard White officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
